Residential Group Mini Stay – Experience Bury St Edmunds

July 1, 2017

A Recent Residential Group

A recent residential group from Spain had an enjoyable stay in the BLS English Residence. The programme was 6 nights and included full board for students and teachers as well as a full programme of lessons, sports and trips.

New Experiences

The group learned how to play cricket, tried marmite, scones and looked around the local fire station asking questions in English along the way. Trips to the University of Cambridge and the Abbey Gardens were just some of the highlights of a fun and action packed residential mini stay at BLS.

The group visited the local Abbey Gardens, the local marketĀ  and spoke with stall holders and our friendly local residents. . Throughout the week the students were preparing a presentation on the similarities and differences between Bury St Edmunds and Girona. There was also a photo competition in which students had to interact with local residents. The presentation took place on the last day with their teachers before the awards ceremony in which all students received their BLS certificate to take home to show their parents.

Evening Activity Programme

British food tasting, a football tournament, a talent show and a film night kept the students entertained in the evenings. The focus was always on communicating in English and their friendly teachers were there to support and correct them. Learning was made accessible and fun!

Bury St Edmunds a Safe Destination for Young Learners

Students are able to easily find their way around Bury St Edmunds and with the local attractions only minutes away from our residence the town is perfect for young learners. In our residence we have 14 bedrooms for student dorms and each room has either private or ensuite bathroom. With football pitches, a sports centre and leisure centre nearby, there is always plenty to do.
