FOUNDER & TEACHER:   PATRICK

I am the founder of The Bury Language School. I would therefore like to welcome you to our hard-working and successful school, which feels very much like one friendly extended international family. I believe that any school is only as good as its teachers; and I believe that here at The Bury Language School we have the best.

PRINCIPAL & TEACHER:   BEN

Before I came to Bury St Edmunds, I taught in Thailand. Whilst in Asia, my love of travelling took me to Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia and Cambodia. I have since settled down, and I am now a proud father. Teaching is therefore the next best way to keep meeting fascinating people from all corners of the globe.  Away from school, I am usually getting muddy on the football pitch.

TEACHER & HOMESTAY CONSULTANT:  SUE

I provide you with the knowledge that each and every homestay is carefully inspected and thoroughly checked to meet our very high standards. I do this with great care, as I strongly believe that your welfare and happiness is of vital importance if you are to be a successful student whilst you are with us. I have lived in Bury St Edmunds for many years. I brought up my children here. I have two grown-up sons and a daughter.

TEACHER:   SARAH

After studying French and working in France as a teaching assistant, I decided to move to the UK to continue to develop my teaching skills. This brought me valuable and rewarding experience working with learners with special needs. I gained my English language teaching qualification in Cambridge and I am now hooked on the atmosphere of the multi-cultural classroom. I love the outdoors and enjoy going on excursions with the students.

TEACHER:   ESME
I started my teaching career in Brighton and moved to Bury St Edmunds in 2003. Since then, I have started a family and am very happy to be able to continue teaching at Bury Language School. What I love is the small friendly classes that allow me to really find out about my students and to help them progress as quickly as possible.
