BLS English will be taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to support the charity Macmillian. It is a great opportunity for everyone to get involved, even our host families donate cakes to the event and sometimes the students help the hosts to make them! Our coffee morning this year is 25th September 2015. There will be different cakes on offer, tea, coffee and lots of games to play and take part in.
Having a Coffee Morning is the perfect chance to catch up over a cuppa and a slice of something delicious for a great cause. One in three of us will face cancer, and the money you raise at your Coffee Morning will help us make sure no one has to face it alone.
How did it all begin?
The first ever Macmillan Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, they did it again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £138 million for Macmillan.
